Requirements & Supported Environments

Here we provide details for system requirements for the PrinterLogic Web Stack and supported environments.

Supported Servers

When provisioning a server, make sure to pre-install or add .Net 4.5.2 and the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (PrinterLogic supports the 2008, 2012, and 2015 Redistributable).

  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2019

Server Hardware

  • Two 2.0 GHz processors or one 2.0 dual-core processor for up to 15,000 users (add a core for every additional 15,000 users)
  • 4GB RAM for up to 15,000 users (add 4GB for every additional 15,000 users)
  • 20GB free hard disk space (add 4GB for every 100 printers)
  • PrinterLogic only supports NTLMv2 for connections to the SMB share.

The Admin Console interface displays a list of the supported operating systems in Tools > Settings > General, as shown below.

Client workstations must have hardware capable of running the operating system with 30MB free hard disk space for the client installation. Additional space for print drivers being installed may be required as well.

Supported Ports for the CPA

Install and uninstall occur on ports 8000 and 8443. All communication with the Service Client occur on port 31988; communication with the web app occurs on port 80/443; communication with normal printing occurs over port 9100.

Lexmark

Badge communication, installation, and uninstall occur over port 31988. Communications with the web app occur on port 443.

Ricoh

Badge communication, installation, and uninstall occurs over port 31988. Communication with the web app occurs on port 443.

Toshiba

Badge communication, installation, and uninstall occur over SOAP port 49629.

Xerox

All communication runs over port 31988.

Konica Minolta

Konica Minolta MFPs use port 443 to receive files via WebDAV, which is used when the PrinterLogic registration tool sends the initial page. Konica Minolta MFPs uses a separate port to receive OpenAPI messages from the application. By default this port is 50003.

    The Safari 13 extension comes automatically with the PrinterLogic 19 upgrade. After you install the extension, you will need to configure additional steps in Safari Preferences. For more information see Safari 13 Support

  • Safari 14 — Requires PrinterLogic 19.1 SP3

    If Safari 14 is going to be used with Big Sur and you want/need to perform a fresh client install, there are some configuration steps that must be performed. For more information see Configure macOS Client for Big Sur & Safari 14 within Web Stack If you are just upgrading an older version of the macOS client, then these additional steps are not required.

  • Import Windows Printers: Administrator rights and access to connect to administrative shares (Admin$) on the print server are required to import printers from Windows print servers. Network ports to open between the print server and the importing computer include: TCP ports 80, 139, 445; UDP ports 137, 138.
  • Import Novell Printers: Administrator rights to the Novell tree are required to import printers from Novell print servers. Network ports to open between the print server and the importing computer include: TCP ports 80, 3396, 3014.
