Step 1: Prerequisites

Install CAC/PIV Card Readers on Workstations

Prior to setting up CAC/PIV in the Admin Console, make sure each workstation has a CAC/PIV card reader set up to enable end-users to log in to the workstation.

Step 2: Display CAC/PIV Settings in the Admin Console

To enable the CAC/PIV settings to display in the Admin Console, contact your PrinterLogic Product Support Engineer or Sales Engineer.

Step 3: Configure RFIDeas E-241

To configure RFIDeas E-241, follow the same steps used in Simple Badge Release for RFIDeas. For more information, see Simple Badge Release.

Step 4: Initiate LDAP Sync

  1. In the Admin Console, click Tools > Settings > General.
  2. Click Initiate LDAP Sync.
  3. Click Save.

Step 5: Release Print Job

The end-user will log in to the workstation with their CAC/PIV card and their Active Directory user credentials. After the user prints a document, the PIN Authentication window will appear as shown below.

The user will enter their CAC/PIV personal ID number and click OK. The end user will then be able to pull their card out of the card reader at their workstation, walk to the printer and swipe their badge to release the print job.
